Our Very First Whisky Tasting – An Evening of Flavor, stories and true passion.

We are delighted to invite you to our very first whisky tasting – an evening where tradition, knowledge, and tasting experiences take center stage. Guiding us on this journey is none other than Bjørn Rasen, one of the country’s most experienced and dedicated whisky enthusiasts.

Rasen’s passion began in a rather dramatic way. In 1980, while refueling at the Fina station in Rossabø, he accidentally dropped and shattered his first bottle of Glenfiddich 12-year-old. What could have been the end instead became the beginning of a lifelong fascination. Since then, he has visited around 90 whisky distilleries and gained an impressive insight into the many expressions and traditions of the whisky world.

Since 2014, Rasen has served as chairman of the Norwegian Whisky Association, a network of approximately 60 whisky clubs across the country. He is also an active member of several clubs, including Ravnafloke Whisky Guild in the Haugaland region.

This evening at På Kaien, Rasen will present five carefully selected whiskies, showcasing the breadth and dynamics of what is arguably the world’s most exciting spirit. Along the way, he will share stories, experiences, and tasting tips that only a true enthusiast can offer.
