Hornelen Via Ferrata is a company started in the spring of 2023, but the seed was sown long before. The idea was several years earlier and sown in the local environment, with the desire to create a destination around the iconic Hornelen. Now this will finally become a reality, with help from local tourism players, investors and the municipality. We think the Nordfjord is one of the most varied and beautiful things Norway has to offer, and Hornelen is unique here too. Our wish is that the activity should contribute to a vibrant local community that uses the beautiful nature in which we live.
As local residents and a national tourism operator, we are concerned with sustainability, and especially taking care of nature and our fjord. We have laid out the track and path so that it causes the least possible damage to nature, both physically and visually. Trackless travel is important to us, and all guests on our tours must practice this in order to protect this unique experience for generations to come.
The sport of climbing has been growing steadily in recent years, and bouldering has almost become a folk sport. Even though we see more and more people taking the step out of the climbing hall and up the rock face, we think even more people want to! Via Ferrata is a safe way to feel the adrenaline, mastery and airy feeling that outdoor climbing gives. We hope and believe that a trip up the Hornelen Via Ferrata will help more people get bitten by the climbing bug and open doors to the great climbing environment we have in Norway!
