A house with history! No. 18 opened 19 August 2019 in the city's oldest venues. The house is owned by the family Hansen who have run a continuous commerce business in the building for almost 300 years. The venue has around 80 seats in different departments with characteristics from each era. The garden room is the name of the newest part of the building where the coffee Gullkant used to get roasted, the coffee that is still served in the café today. From this living room, you have a view of the harbour at Skagenkaien. Kolonialen is the name of the main part of the café where until 1970 there was actually a colonial shop. The consulate, located in the oldest part of the house was built between 1704 and 1710. The Danish Consulate has been administered by the Hansen family for six generations and it is still in operation at Skagen 18 today.
