At the feet of the mighty mountains of Øksendal the English Gentleman Ethelbert Lort-Phillips built Phillipshaugen lodge in 1899. Lort-Phillips was one of the first tourist entrepreneurs in Norway and we here at Phillipshaugen Lodge are proud to continue his legacy and provide an unique place to stay, in an unparalleled piece of pristine nature and the famous and infamous mountains of Øksendal.
