At Mjøsvågen Landhandleri, you can buy locally produced food such as goat cheese, apple juice, and plums, in addition to everyday groceries. You’ll also find some home décor and gift items. The building was formerly a metal factory, and at the back of the shop there’s a small mini-museum giving a glimpse into times past.

The small café serves fresh pastries and cakes, which can be enjoyed outside on the pier when the weather allows. You can also enjoy a pizza and a drink.

The outdoor seating on the pier is popular in summer, and work is underway to insulate the winter garden so it can be used year-round. The winter garden can accommodate 30 guests.

Events:

On the second floor, there’s a charming event room that seats 35 people at tables. For concerts or events without tables, it can accommodate up to 68 people. Mjøsvågen Landhandleri can help arrange catering from local suppliers. Prices on request.

Guest harbor:

If you arrive by private boat, you can moor at the pier. Prices start from 200 NOK per night for a berth and 100 NOK per night for electricity.

Beach:

Near the shop, you’ll find Hosanger Church and Sperrneset Beach - a small, pleasant beach with a diving board, toilets, and a lawn.

Kossdalssvingane:

By the church, there’s a recommended parking area for the popular hike to Kossdalssvingane. You can stop by Mjøsvågen Landhandleri buy food for you hike, or stop by afterwards for a fresh pastries or pizza.

Mjøsvågen - a perfect location for a day trip from Bergen:

In Mjøsvågen, you can park at the shop or by the church. From there, take a walk along the waterfront from the beach and church, continue to Mjøsvågen Landhandleri, and along the wooden houses and boathouses to the inner part of the bay. Here you’ll find the floating sauna Flabellina, the event space Den Grøne Fabrikken, and the pub Fjærå Sjøhus. Please check opening hours beforehand, as this might vary according to time of year.

How to get to Mjøsvågen Landhandleri:

By car:
It takes about 50 minutes to drive to Hosanger from Bergen city center. Take the E39 north from the center, then the E16, exit after 30 minutes, and cross the Osterøy Bridge. Follow road 556 to Lonevåg, then 557 to Hosanger. Parking is available at Mjøsvågen Landhandleri for shop visits, or by the church if you’re going hiking.

By public transport:
Take the train from Bergen Station to Arna Station (about 8 minutes), then bus 900 to Lonevåg. From there, transfer to bus 906 to Fotlandsvåg and get off at Hosanger. Be sure to check schedules at Skyss.no before traveling.
