Gjegnen in Ålfoten

Gjegnen – also known as Gjegnet, Gjegnalunden, Blånibba or Uksen – a beloved peak with many names. The mountain lies in the Ålfoten landscape protection area, which covers 226 square kilometers of mountain and glacier landscape. This is an area with steep, high mountains and glaciers.

The mountain is a popular hiking destination and lies in a demanding high mountain terrain. The hike should be well planned, preferably with experienced companions, and scheduled for a day with stable and fine weather.
