Digital Town Walk in Høyanger

Discover the history, architecture and industrial heritage of Høyanger on this self-guided digital town walk. The route takes approximately one hour to complete at a leisurely pace and covers around 3 km.

Along the way, you will find six stops where you can pause and learn more about the places, people and events that have shaped Høyanger into one of Norway's most distinctive industrial communities.

Start your walk at Byporten in the centre of Høyanger and follow the route to the first stop. When you arrive, tap the image to open the information for that location. Beautifully situated on the shores of the Sognefjord and surrounded by steep mountains and powerful waterfalls, Høyanger is where nature and industry meet. Hydropower laid the foundation for one of Norway's greatest industrial success stories, and today the town is known for its unique combination of industrial history, functionalist architecture and spectacular fjord scenery.
