DNT Aursjøhytta mountain lodge
Aursjøhytta is open from June-Sepetmber, and also is a self-catering DNT cabin all year round. In the cottage there is a spacious living room and well-equipped self-service kitchen. 2 double and 3 double beds, with a total of 14 beds, in addition there is sleeping loft where there are some more beds. Bed sheet / sleeping bag must be used. Electric light and heat, shower.
DNT Gammelsetra mountain lodge
Old and cosy summer pastry farm with 4 buildings. Good startout for hikes in Dovre- and Sunndal mountains or easy walks in the area. Nice area for fishing nearby. Tollroad, then approx. 20 min. by foot. Suitable for older persons or families with small children for easy walks. The cabin has 32 beds and possible with 5 persons in the livingroom.
DNT Grøvudalshytta mountain lodge
Grøvudalshytta is situated in beatiful Grøvudalen, a pastry farm with exeptionally rich flora - approximately 85 % of Norway's mountain plants is found here. Calcareaous mountain contributing to this rich flora. Self-serviced cabin, open all year. 30 beds in total - 20 in the main house, 8 in the storehouse and 2 in the living room.
DNT Gullsteinsvollen mountain lodge
Two cabins at old summer mountain pasture, with great view overlooking the sea, Edøy, Smøla and the "Tustna Alps". The cabin lies on Kristiansund and Nordmøre Trekking Association's "Fjord Route", visit www.kntur.no for maps and more information. Self-service cabins, locked with a standard DNT-key, available from the Trekking Association. Total beds: 26, divided on bedrooms, living room and loft.
DNT Hardbakkhytta mountain lodge
Hardbakkhytta is located nicely on a hight, next to a small tarn, and has an amazing view in all directions: south one can see Trollheimen in the west and Romsdalsfjella to the east. North is the northern part of the Fjord Route, and the ocean. The cabin is situated in the middle of the southern part of the Fjord Route, approximately 5 hours from both Grytbakksetra to the east and Tverrlihytta to the west. The cabin was built in 1998, and Steinbua located approx. 60 metres from the main cabin was built in 2006. The latter is used only when the main cabin is full. The tarn in front of the main cabin is the source of drinking water, while the pond next to Steinbrua is used for swimming. The cabin is self-serviced and open all year. Please note that during winter there might be a lot of snow, even covering the whole entrance in some winters - spade is found near the entrace. Total amount of beds: 26, 11 in the main cabin and 12 at Steinbua. And 3 extra beds in the living room.
DNT Hermannhytta mountain lodge
Hermannnytta has been a part of Kristiansund and Nordmøre Trekking Association since 2002, when it was bought in order to connect the Fjord Route with the cabins in Trollheimen (Vindøldalen). Originally the cabin was located at Røv in Surnadal, and was built in the 1950s, then as a sauna. In the middle of the 70s, Hermann Sande bought the cabin and moved it to its present location. The main house is the old sauna, while the annexe is new, built on the old walls of the outhouse. Hermannhytta is a nice starting point for day trips to Grytbakksetra or Vindølbu. Total amount of beds: 13. The cabin is self-serviced and open all year.
DNT Imarbu mountain lodge
Located at Viavikneset in Imarsundet, Imarbu is beautifally placed by the sea - Imarbu is in fact the Fjord Route's only self serviced cabin by the sea. The local goat boat as well as fishing equipment is available for visitors. The cabin is also nice as a base for day trips. Total amount of beds: 35, divided on the bedroom and the loft. The cabin is locked with a standard DNT-key, available from Kristiansund and Nordmøre Trekking Association.
DNT Nersetra mountain lodge
Nersetra is a part of the Norwegian tourist association and located along the popular Fjord Route - a hiking jewel where sky, sea, fjord and mountains meet. Nersetra is beautifully and openly located with a view of Stabblandet and the mountains further west. Total of 51 beds.
DNT Rovangen mountain lodge
Rovangen is idyllically located by the lake Rostolvatnet east of Rostolen, about 7 kilometres from Aure centre. 2 buildings, the smallest (bought by Kristiansund and Nordmøre Trekking Association in 2008) and a new building in timber. Fishing in Rostolvatnet. Rovangen is a great place for winter activities, many nice places for skiing close by. Great sea view from Rostolen and Mannen. Nice day trips with base at Rovangen, i.e. Rostolen (1 h), Bergfjellet (2 h) and Sølømsfjellet (4-5 h). Total amount of beds: 24 - 14 in bedroom, 3 extra in the living room and 7 divided on two lofts. The cabin is self-serviced and open all year.
DNT Runde Lighthouse - Accommodation
Runde lighthouse is located on Kvalneset at the northwestern tip of the famous bird island Runde. It is one of 80 protected lighthouses in Norway and is part of the coastal joint collaboration between DNT, Forbundet Kysten and others. The lighthouse buildings and the lighthouse area are protected in accordance with the Cultural Heritage Act.
DNT Sollia mountain lodge
Sollia was built in 2002-03 and is a restored stone barn partly built by materials from timber saved after a fire in a klipfish wharf in Kristiansund in 2001. The view over the fjord and further towards the mountains in the south is extravagant. One assumes that people has been living at Sollia since the 1600s, maybe even earlier. Sollia is a cabin along the Fjord Route, and nice day trips to i.e. Storfiskhytta or Storlisetra is recommended. The cabin is self-serviced and open all year. Total amount of beds: 22.
DNT Storfiskhytta mountain lodge
Storfiskhytta was built the summer of 2001, and opened autumn the same year. The cabin was completed by voluntary work by Kristiansund and Nordmøre Trekking Association's members and other interested. Located in an exciting, hilly terrain, ideal for trips both summer and winter. The area is also characterised by numerous small and large lakes that might give the hiker with a fishing pole nice experiences. Storfiskhytta is well suited for use by families with children. Easy access during summer from Klakkan, about 1,5 hours. Also marked trail from Vinjeøra. Total amount of beds: 21 - 12 in bedroom, 6 on the loft and 3 extra in the living room. The cabin is self-serviced and open all year.
DNT Todalshytta mountain lodge
Todalshytta is a gem in Todalen, Surnadal and centrally located in the village. Hiking opportunities in the area are good, Todalen is the gateway to Trollheimen, and the hike from Todalshytta over Bjøråskaret to Innerdalen is fantastic. It is also possible to walk from Todalshytte to Trollheimshytta through Romådalen, this hike is long and most fitted for the experienced walker. The river,Toå, runs just below the cabin is known for good fishing. The cabin is self service: The self-catering neighborhood of Todalshytta consists of 2 units. • Isbua: The 2nd floor of Isbua is open for self-catering accommodation and locked with DNT lock. It consists of a small hallway with kitchenette a and a living room with 2 refrigerators and a 3-seater sofa. There is bed linen for accommodation for 5 people. • Virgo: In connection with the main cabin there is a separate room that is used for the self-catering accommodation. The room key is located in Isbua, there is a family bunk bed in the room with room for 3 people. Toilet and shower are in separate sanitary facilities, this is used both by residents on the self-catering area and those who rent the main cabin. Twin cabin: The main cabin is open for rent as a unit. This is a traditional cottage from the English area in Todalen, The cottage has its own spacious kitchen, breakfast room, large dining room and fireplace lounge. On the second floor is the bedroom with 30 beds spread over many rooms. The cabin is locked and all leases at the Trekking association in Kristiansund. See more information at the website.
DNT Trollheimshytta mountain lodge
Trollheimshytta lies sheltered in a landscape of conifers and birches, with a view of mountain massifs and peaks that ring Folldalen in the middle of Trollheimen. Its central location make it a node for hikers from Gjevilvasshytta, Jøldalshytta, Bårdsgarden and Kårvatn. There are many choices of summer hikes and winter ski tours, and the lodge is a good starting point for summit tours to Snota, Trollhetta and other peaks. The lodge is part of the classical Trollheimen Triangle route between Gjevilvasshytta, Jøldalshytta and Trollheimshytta.
DNT Trollstua mountain lodge
Trollstua is nicely located at the lake Bjønnavatnet on Tustna. By the cabin is a boathouse with a rowing boat and two canoes. Trollstua is a nice place to be for families with children. One can use canoes to get to the lake Røsvatnet. The cabin is the first one meets when starting the Fjord Route from Kristiansund. 1,5 hours walk to Tømmervågen and 5 hours walk to Gullsteinvollen from the cabin. Trollstua is self-serviced and locked with a standard DNT-key. Total amount of beds: 22, extra space in living room and the loft.
DNT Vangshaugen mountain lodge
Vangshaugen was built in 1910-1911 by the Englishman Ethelbert Lort-Philip who came to Norway for the first time in 1886 and built several beautiful mountain lodges. In 1934 the mountain lodge with all its contents and approxomately 10 acres of land was was given to Kristiansund and Nordmøre Trekking Association. 64 beds and two on loft.
DNT Vindølbu mountain lodge
West of Røv (Rv 65 approx 9 km east of Skei, Surnadal) there will be a sign for Vindøldalen. Toll road approx 11 km to Pebua (NOK 50,-). 2,5 km further, to Langøysetra (nice bicycle road), path to Vindølbu (signs) exits just past Langøybekken. Approximately half an hour walk, furthest up the hill, you will find the cabin. Vindølbu cabin is own and run by Kristiansund and Nordmøre Trekking Association, and is situated just east of the big bridge past Langøysetra, 500 metres above sea level. The cabin is self serviced and open all year. 9 beds in 3 bedrooms, 2 in living room, 6 at the loft, 17 beds all together. From Vindølbu there is a grande view south and west with mountains over 1400 metres. In the south-west you can see Fruhøtta (1435 m) and Blånebba (1421 m), and just across the valley Langøyfjellet (921 m) and Kufjellet (1005 m). Great starting point for nice daytrips summer as well as winter. Marked path to the cabin Hermann over Bollen (805 m). Further the path is marked past Breiskarsetrene and to Breiskaret for Trondjems Trekking Association's route Gråsjøen - Trollheimshytta. From there the path moves further to Bosvasshøgda and to the cabin Trollheim. These routes are connection routes Trollheimen - Fjordruta south.
Førde Hostel is a seasonal hostel, which means it is not open all year and has seasonal opening times. Please keep this is mind when checking availability. Breakfast and linen/towels are included in the price. Reception is open from 0800 -1200 and 1700 – 2200. Members of Hostelling International are entitled to 10% discount on the overnight price at arrival. Førde is surrounded by beautiful scenery, and the area has got plenty to offer when it comes to outdoor activities. How about hiking in the mountains during the summer, or try cross country or downhill skiing during the winter? The hostel is located next to the hospital, approximately 2 km from Førde centre. Attractions in the area are among others Fosseheimen – where you can visit 50 waterfalls along 3 watercourses, The Western Norwegian Fjords, Jostedal Glacier – included the Glacier Museum, The Fjord Road to Florø and much more.
Jashaugbu is a hiking cabin in the valley Fresvikjordalen, close to Nærøyfjorden landscape preserve (Nærøyfjorden World Heritage Park). From the cabin, two marked hiking paths lead to Storedalen (Fresvik) and Seljadalen (Vik). The cabin is run by ILModig and the Hiking Association in Vik and can be opened with a DNT standard key. The cabin can be used all year, but has got no food storage and no service staff, but has got cooking facilities.
The cabin Målsethytta is run by the hiking association in Vik, has got space for 18 persons (main cabin + spare cabin) and is situated at the lake Målsetvatnet at 875 m asl. You can drive all the way to the cabin by car, or you can get off the bus and walk 1,5 km to the cabin. The cabin can be opened with a DNT standard key. Målsetvatnet is excellent for fishing, but remember to buy a fishing licence. The road to the cabin is not cleared in winter. From end of October to the beginning of June (depending on snow conditions) the cabin can only be reached by ski.
