Theatre play in Norwegian.

Pinocchio is an Italian children's book character who has become a citizen of the world. And this autumn we will be visited by this fiery Italian when the fairy tale about the little wooden puppet, who wants so badly to become a real person, comes to life on the Main Stage!
Director Simon Lay and the entire lush ensemble of performers from Children's and Youth Theatre tell the story of Pinocchio with great love for the original story. That's why this version is a marvellous, dark and captivating story. It's a mixture of fairy tale and reality, of magic and excitement, and we get to take part in Pinocchio and his friend Gregor's perilous journey in a world full of strange characters, marvellous events, temptations and deception.

Pinocchio is the story of the old woodcarver, Geppetto, who desperately wants a son. When the wooden puppet he carved suddenly comes to life, his dream comes true. But it also becomes a source of worry. Because Pinocchio is ready to go on an adventure, live his own wild child life and do what suits him.

In his quest to become a living human boy, Pinocchio is led into a world of challenges. He is both reckless and disobedient, always getting into strange and dangerous predicaments. Every time he lies, his nose grows and along the way he meets a number of characters and ends up in various situations that test his strength, reliability and ability to make wise choices. Because only by being honest, knowing the difference between right and wrong, taking responsibility and being brave can he become a real boy.

Kind-hearted Geppetto sheds many a tear for his "son", but he knows that although Pinocchio is naughty, he is also brave and warm-hearted. And with his friend Gregors by his side, he is helped on his journey towards becoming a real and good person. And it all works out well - in the end.
