Autumn is the most beautiful time in the mountains, they are dressed in their fine autumn clothes and the air is fresh and clean. Jølster has many nice mountains to offer, here you can experience the autumn colors in the mountains reflected in the clear Jølstravatnet lake. If you're looking for an Instagram-friendly view, Grovanipa, Kleivafjellet or Lundeskaret are the right places to go hiking. At the top you get a view over the Kjøsnes Fjord and Lake Jølstravatnet. If you want to enjoy the autumn colors without climbing up a mountainside, the waterfall path in Gaular is a great trip. Here you walk along 13 different waterfalls and lakes, and can enjoy the rush of the river while you walk along autumn-clad trees in the forest.

A bike ride in autumn nature is absolutely recommended. Rent a bike on Jølstraholmen and cycle along the Jølstravatnet in Astrup's realm, take your bike to Gaular and combine a waterfall hike with a bike ride along one of Norway's national tourist routes, Gaularfjellet, or enjoy the view of the beautiful Førdefjord from the bike seat on the stretch out over the fjord in Naustdal. If you prefer to experience it from the kayak, we can recommend a paddling trip in the Kjøsnesfjord, kayaks can be rented from Kvåleskajakk or Lunde tourist station.
