The bus trip from Kristiansund passes Frei and Bergsøya. On the trip, you will see the magnificent Gjemnessund bridge. This suspension bridge was opened in 1992, as the longest suspension bridge in Norway at the time (today, the Hardanger bridge is the longest, while the Askøy bridge has the longest single suspension). A ferry ride from Kanestraum to Halsa is also included in the trip. On the ferry, you can stretch your legs and – if you are so inclined – buy the local delicacy "svele", a sort of pancake which is commonly bought when taking a ferry.
When you go ashore on Valsøya, you can explore the world among the tree tops at the Høyt & Lavt (High & Low) climbing park. If you want an activity closer to the ground, you can hike along the beautiful fjord, rent a kayak and paddle between small islets and rocks, swim at the tiny beach, enjoy delicious food at the Saltrøfjøset restaurant, or simply enjoy an ice cream and the atmosphere in the scenic environment.
The restaurant is open daily at 13-19 o'clock (when this trip can be booked). During the school summer holiday, the climbing park is open daily and during the rest of the year on Saturdays and Sundays. See opening hours for the climbing park below.
- Note: Entrance to the climbing park or other acitivites is not included in the price for this trip.

About "Travel like the locals"
These tours use public transport, i.e. regular buses, ferries and boats, but we have done the planning for you and the tours are organized with connecting buses, ferries and boats, so you can concentrate on enjoying your trip. You travel on your own - there is no guide or tour leader. On most of our tours, you must change between different buses/ferries/boats several times, and it is up to you to make sure you catch your connections – you are truly travelling like a local! Due to deviations in the time tables, the tours are not available for booking on public holidays and during holiday periods such as Easter and Christmas. The time table is valid for the bookable periods.
