The headquarters are located in Vik, a picturesque village in Øygarden, just 40 minutes from the heart of Bergen. This charming village features boathouses along the peaceful shores of the North Sea.
You get picked you up with a Raven Rib boat in Bergen city center, ensuring a pleasant 30-minute ride to the islands of Øygarden. Upon arrival, specially designed suits and life vests are provided, ready for the changing North Sea weather. Enjoy a cup of coffee and a slice of melon while learning about the base and the rich history of the village.
Setting out from the base, you'll have the opportunity to pull your very own crab pots. The knowledgeable guide will provide insights into the diverse array of sea life, including crabs, fish, and even starfish. The catch is then taken back to the base where a meal gets prepared and served on a long table overlooking the sea and surrounded by beautiful scenery. If you're fortunate, you may even spot an eagle soaring above the village on the winds.
Learn how to prepare the crab and taste it fresh from the boiling pot.
After the meal you get accompanied to the bus that will take you back to Bergen.
