A big part of the area is a nature reserve, with several burial mounds. Wild sheep grazes here to keep the vegetation down. The walk heads towards the lighthouse on the outer part of Fjørtoftneset. It is a nice walk for the whole family.

Route

You start by an old summer barn at the start of the gravel road. From here you follow a tractor road until it ends up in a clear trail. It's possible to take a bike up to this point. You can also park several places along the road.

Then you arrive at the stone wall that marks the start of the path you enter what is the nature reserve. It's mostly a walk in flat terrain and the path goes along gras and heather, and some coastal elevation. It's a relative easy walk for most.

Parking

Until Nordøyvegen opens (August 27th) you need to take a speedboat or ferry to Fjørtoft. From the pier you take right in the road crossing for the shortest drive. Follow the road for 4 km and park the car by the tractor road. There is shed with a sign saying"Saloon" on close to the trail.
