The walkway consists of latticework ("grids") "floating" above the terrain, and is suitable for or anyone. The service building at Eldhusøya, with its distinct architecture that falls into the terrain, has a café and toilets. (Open Saturdays and Sundays in the spring and every day 1st June – 31st August.) The area also offers a magnificent landscape, a rich bird life and great fishing opportunities. Note! If you are travelling on a Saturday, you have no stop at the Atlantic Road but will be able to enjoy the spectacular view from the bus. In Molde you have some time to walk around this charming town between the fjord and the hills. Molde offers a magnificent view towards the fjord and the mountains on the other side, and has a multitude of shops, cafés, etc. From Molde you travel via Vestnes and Sjøholt to Ålesund. This part of the trip includes a ferry trip that offers a great view back on Molde and to the surrounding mountains. "Brødrene af Sand" (Ryfylkemuseet)
This traditional timber merchantman has now been restored following a long life plying the Ryfylke fjords. Since the middle of the 19th century "The Sand Brothers" has carried firewood, timber, barrels, sand, livestock, flour and ice between Stavanger, Haugesund and Bergen. The Postal Service and spring herring harvests provided other employment. This beautifully restored sloop is berthed by Nesasjøhuset at Sand.

Located between sea and mountains and with a short distance from the one to the other, you can explore the fjord, the town center and the mountains behind the town in a short time. Molde - the Atlantic Road - Kristiansund This trip goes from Molde via the Atlantic Road - often described as the world's most beautiful road – to Kristiansund. The Atlantic Road connects Averøy with the mainland via a series of small islands and islets spanned by a total of eight bridges over 8274 meters. The road is a national tourist route. On some of the departures you have the opportunity to leave the bus at Atlanterhavsvegen and take a later bus onwards. Other departures is a direct connection to the bus for Kristiansund, and you enjoy the view from the bus window. (Check the timetable below.) If you stop at the Atlantic Road, you will get off the bus at Eldhusøya. Here you can take a walk on the suspended walkway around the islet. The walkway consists of latticework ("grids") "floating" above the terrain, and is suitable for or anyone. The service building at Eldhusøya, with its distinct architecture that falls into the terrain, has a café and toilets. (Open Saturdays and Sundays in the spring and every day 1st June – 31st August.) The area also offers a magnificent landscape, a rich bird life and great fishing opportunities. Kristiansund is known for the dried and salted cod – "klippfisk" (literally "cliff fish"). The city's speciality is the dish bacalao and dishes with "klippfisk" are served in all the restaurants and most of the cafés in town. You also find a snackbar that serves another one of Kristiansund's specialities - real fish and chips, locally called "fishan". Ålesund City Train Sightseeing
Join the Town Train on a guided tour throughout Ålesund's town centre. You can enjoy the fantastic Art Nouveau buildings up close, visit the top of the city mountain Aksla, with a panoramic view of 70 minutes, including a stop at the viewpoint Fjellstua, and starts at Dronning Sonjas Pass, in the city center.
Boat trip from Runde port
Join a 2 hour boat- and sightseeing trip from the harbour of Runde (approx. 2 hours with car from Ålesund), to the bird cliffs at Runde. A unique chance to see many different bird spices, also the very popular Puffins and the magnificent coastal landscape from the sea. A local skipper will bring you there and tell you about birds, climate and local environment. All trips take weather conditions into account. Have a nice trip!
Charter boat to Runde Island
Runde Miljøsenter's own charter boat "Lophelia" (35 feet / 35 knots) takes up to 12 passengers. On request, we pick up and bring visitors from Ålesund Airport Vigra and Ålesund center. Both tours take about 45 minutes. (NB: When picking up at the airport, add at Valderøy fast boat quay which can be reached by bus from the airport.) "Lophelia" also offers guided tours to the bird mountain on Runde. A trip around the island gives a fantastic experience of life in the bird mountain. During the day, this is the absolute best way to see the puffin. Other species that are often seen include sea eagles, storks, cormorants, crutches, guillemots, seahorses and harbor seals. One also passes the town where Rundeskatten was found by divers in 1972. The trip goes well both alone and in combination with transport to / from the island. All boat trips must be arranged in advance, and is done with restraint about the weather.

1 Day hidden fjord kayaking trip
The Hjørundfjord is one of the most spectacular and unspoiled fjords in Norway. Spend half a day kayaking in this natural paradise, viewing the overwhelming rock walls towering over you with waterfalls with clear drinking water, all in a tranquility you find in few places today. This trip is out and back from the sleepy town of Urke (40 inhabitants), and we have lunch along the fjord. At the end of the tour you can enjoy a cup of coffee and a Norwegian waffle at the cozy cafe, Urke Kaihus, from where the Fjordcruise boat to and from Ålesund leaves.
We offer guided kayak-trips on the Sognefjord with an experienced guide, the trip begins at Dampskipskaien in Sogndal, and you can decide on the route together with your guide, depending on weather and wind conditions. Before the trip begins you will get basic training and safetyinformation, before embarking on a trip in our beautiful fjord. All necessary equipment is included and we use big and stabile double sea-kayaks. We offer 3- or 4-hour trips, must be booked in advance. Fly over Stavanger and the beautiful Lysefjord by helicopter. This is the fastest and most comfortable way to experience the amazing fjord landscapes the Stavanger region has to offer. Flying for 30 minutes east towards the mountains will take you over the city of Jørpeland and up to the majestic Pulpit Rock (25x25m plateau) which is located 604 meters above the Lysefjord (42 km long and 422m at its deepest) and is the region's most visited attraction. Located on the peninsula Storhaug, this is a popular Sunday trail for the locals and an exquisite area for Nordic Walking. Here a 3 km coastal walk stretches from one small boat harbor to another. The trail runs in open countryside right beside the fjord and offers a fantastic view over the Gandsfjord and the mountains beyond. There are several lovely beaches along the way and we will pass large rocky headlands protruding into the fjord. Sit down and relax in a peaceful outdoor area, where we'll enjoy one of Norway's best loved culinary treats, and also one of the simplest – the brown cheese. Together with rye bread and refreshing beverages, this constitutes a typical Norwegian back to basic trail snack. Let's continue back to the city center along the Blue Promenade – a lovely path, which goes around the harbor in Stavanger. Roundtrip Stegastein Viewpoint - The snowroad - Borgund Stave Church
Join us on a memorable roundtrip to Stegastein Viewpoint, via The Snow road to Borgund Stave Church. Boarding Flåm: Outside of Flåm Visitor Centre. Boarding Aurland: Aurland Church, Aurlandsvangen. STEGASTEIN VIEWPOINT is one of the Aurlands most popular attractions based 640metres above the Aurland Fjord. From the viewpoint you can enjoy the most amazing views of the fjord landscape that the area has to offer. Don't forget to bring your camera. Here you are guaranteed to get the best holiday photos! THE SNOW ROAD reaches 3006masl and is known for its high altitude that leaves the road mountain covered in snow all year. The drive across the mountain is one of the most beautiful mountain routes in Norway. The road is only open during certain times of the year: 1. June to 30. September. From the beginning of October to the beginning of May the road is closed. THE LÆRDAL TUNNEL is the longest tunnel in the world, measuring 24,5km from beginning to end. The tunnel was opened in 2000 and going through it is some experience. The tunnel has an extraordinary composition with simulated daylight, good air quality and three great mountain halls (all lit in different colours). BORGUND STAVE CHURCH is the best-preserved Stave Church in Norway. The Stave Church in Borgund was built in 1180AD. The church known for its distinct architecture and a style of decoration that capture the historical breaking point between Old Norse and Christian culture in Norway. At the Stave Church Visitor Center, you will find an exhibition about unique Viking findings from the early 8th century. At the visitor center you can also find a café, souvenir shop and toilet facilities. Note! That the entrance ticket to the Stave Church is not included in the price: 90NOK. Pr. Tour suggestion by car from Molde: Atlantic Road and Bud
MOLDE-BUD-ATLANTIC ROAD-KRISTIANSUND – feel the power of the mighty ocean Length: 179 km Duration: 3 hours 35 min 2 toll roads Molde-Bud, 40 km, 50 min From Molde you drive RV64 towards Elnesvågen. We recommend going via Skaret, where you can visit a local handicraft shop, and a cosy café with local food on the menu. Alternatively you can drive the Tusten tunnel (toll road). Follow RV663/664 westwards to the fishing village of Bud. The ocean view here is marvellous, and you can experience World War II history at Ergan Coastal Fort. There is also a stone park nearby. In the 16th and 17th century, Bud was the biggest trading post between Bergen and Trondheim. Popular fish restaurant. Bud-Vevang, 27 km, 35 min The Atlantic Road was opened in 1989 and starts in Bud. Follow RV663 north along the coast. Several facilitated picnic spots along the way, where you can easily park. Nice coastal paths signposted from the road in Bud and on Nordneset, Farstad. Bring your fishing gear and try your luck out here. You can also visit the factory outlet of the wool producer Lanullva at Lyngstad. Drive via Skottenvika to Vevang, where the Atlantic Road zigzags across bridges and rock-fills from island to island. The stretch with bridges in itself is 9 km long. A stone's throw or two to the west, the shipping lane crosses the notorious waters of Hustadvika, concealing innumerble wrecks. People often go here when the autumn storms starts to rage. If your time is limited, you can follow RV64 from Molde via Eide straight to Vevang (1 hour). Vevang-Kristiansund , 38 km, 45 min, 1 toll road RV64 continues all the way to Kristiansund over the island of Averøya. Nice detours towards west, or you can drive "the inward side" and get to see Kvernes Stave Church. New tunnel from Bremsnes over to Kristiansund (toll road). Tour suggestion by car from Molde: Island hopping round Ona
MOLDE-AUKRA-ONA-MIDSUND – enjoy the view along the Romsdal coast Length: 93 km Duration: 5 hours 30 min 5 ferries We can recommend doing this trip by both car and by bicycle. Due to the limited ferry departures to Ona, it is recommended to stay overnight during the trip. Molde-Ona, 31 km, 2 hours 30 min, 2 ferries RV662 runs westwards from Molde to Hollingsholmen, where there is a ferry service over to Aukra (15 min). On the island of Gossen you can visit Løvikremma Coastal Farm and the Rokta Monument on the island of Rindarøya. Ferry from Småge to Ona (approx. 1 time 30 min), Norway's southernmost still-functioning fishing village with a permanent population of 30. This small island community has a summer café, several places to stay and two pottery workshops. Ona Lighthouse (1867) is 15 meters tall and placed on the highest point of the island. Fantastic view over the ocean and towards the mainland. You can also go across the bridge to the island of Husøya. Ona-Midsund-Molde, 62 km, 3 hours, 3 ferries Travel with the ferry from Ona to the island of Finnøya (45 min), where the wonderful aqua park "Håp i Havet" is located. Finnøya is connected to the island of Harøya, where the windmills are lined up. Ferry from Myklebust to Dryna (approx. 1 hour), continue to Midsund. Short walk from the ferry landing to the grotto Franskhelleren, and further along the way you can also stop to see the Bjørneremshellerne grottos, 200 meters from RV668. This is also the place of the old national border. Continue along FV202 on the island of Otrøya. In Heggdalsvika you can visit a restored mill from the 1880s. Ferry crossing from Solholmen to Mordalsvågen (15 min) and return to Molde via RV662. Estimated time on the trip is driving time only, ferries incl. Make time, experience more!
