Skyss provides transport by bus throughout Bergen, the former region of Hordaland and the Bergen Light Rail. Travel by public transport to explore the attractions of Bergen or one of our magnificent Norwegian fjords. You can travel by the Bergen Light Rail to visit Edvard Grieg's home Troldhaugen and Fantoft Stave Church, or by bus to visit for example Old Bergen, Lysøen Island, Voss, the Hardangerfjord or the Aurlandsfjord. Or even to take the bus to Odda.

Pubilc transport within the city center: Bergen city center is compact and best explored by foot. (Or segway!). Within the city center it is better to walk than to take the bus. From Bryggen it takes 5 minutes to the Fish Market and another few minues to the Fløibanen funicular by foot. The Tourist Information is also located centrally on the Fish Market.

To and from Bergen Airport Flesland: You can also travel with Bybanen (Bergen Light Rail) line number 1 to and from Bergen Airport Flesland to Bergen city center. Tickets can be purchased at a Skyss ticket machine, with the mobile app Skyss Billett, in a number of kiosks and shops or on board some of the buses. (Not on board city buses and the Bergen Light Rail). Bergen card holders can make use of public transport with Skyss for free in Bergen (including the Light Rail to and from the Airport) and busses in the former region Hordaland. Not including the Airport bus from Bergen city center to Bergen Airport Flesland. The card is valid for public transport with the operator Skyss to places like Voss, Odda, and all of the Hardangerfjord area. Bergen Light Rail (Bybanen) and buses uses the same ticket system and the ticket is valid for 90 minutes.

Travelling with children: If you are travelling with children, please note that on Saturdays and Sundays and public holidays four children travel for free when travelling with an adult. The age limit for children is from 6 years old until 18 years old.

Skyss ticket App: You can buy tickets for bus and Bergen Light Rail (Bybanen) using the app called Skyss Billett. You can also buy tickets at ticket machines at the bus and Bergen Light Rail stops. Skyss ticket on SMS:

Send an SMS to telephone number 2412 witht the code word for the ticket you want: Vaksen (adult) Honnør (senior) Barn (child)  Make sure to only write the norwegian word when you send the SMS. (If you have a foreign number, you might have to add the country code 47 before the number.)

Bus to Odda: If you are travelling from Bergen to Odda for the Trolltunga hike, you can take bus number 930 from Bergen Bus Station (bay O). The bus takes about 3 hours. Please note that it is not possible to take the bus from Bergen and do the hike up Trolltunga on the same day. (The hike is about 12 hours). If you have the Bergen Card, the bus journey is free. Passangers are free on the ferry crossing between Tørrvikbygd and Jonal.

Zone A: Zone Bergen includes the municipalities of Bergen, Askøy, Øygarden, Osterøy, Alver, Austrheim, Fedje and previous Os. Zone B: The areas around the Bjørnefjord. Zone C: Sunnhordland Zone D: Odda, Eidfjord and Rosendal Zone E: Voss, Granvin and Ulvik Zone F: Samnanger, Kvam, Vaksdal and Modalen Zone G: Masfjorden
