About

Surrounded by fjords, beautiful cultural landscapes, fruit orchards, and snow-capped mountains, Brakanes Hotel is nicely located on the fjord edge in the center of Ulvik. The hotel, which has 143 rooms of various sizes, has been through several renovations over the past few years. 80 rooms with fjord views were renovated in 2018, while the suites and rooms on the 5th floor were new in 2012. All rooms are non-smoking, many are allergy-free, and 4 rooms are handicap friendly. Dogs are allowed in selected rooms with direct access to the hotel garden.

The restaurant, which has a strong focus on the use of local and regional ingredients, has a great view of the fjord. In the main season, the fresh vegetables and herbs from the cooperative farm at Undeland are used in the kitchen. In the summer, one can have the meal served outside in the hotel garden, where the children can play by the edge of the fjord and on their floating trampoline. Here you will also find a whole new outdoor area with hot tub and sauna stove with an absolutely incredible view. Indoors, the small pool is popular for both young and old - all year round.

Brakanes Hotel is a great starting point for the many hikes in the immediate area, as well as many marked hiking trails in Ulvik and Osa. If you want to explore the area, the hotel offers rental of electric bicycles.

Within walking distance of the hotel, you will find the Fruit and cider route - where you can walk between the fruit farms, taste their products, and buy in the farm shops.

In Ulvik, you can also paddle a kayak, visit Olav H. Haugesenteret, try a super-board, take trips with seaplanes, do some water skiing or cycle along the fjord.

The hotel has a great beach, but the beach in Holmen is also popular. There is also a sports court, tennis court, and sand volleyball. During the winter, Ulvik is known for the light trail (cross country ski) on Drevtjørn and hiking trail to Solsæ, and the distance is short to the large ski resorts on Voss.

Welcome to the Brakanes Hotel – a hotel for all seasons!
