Ona Havstuer

The island of Ona, the furthermost island off the coast of Romsdal, was home to a fishing village for centuries. In its heyday, more than 300 hundred people lived permanently on Ona and Husøy, which are connected by a bridge. It had a fish landing station, and was the country's most southern ‘klippfisk’ village and had several stores. Today, there are about 25 permanent residents on Ona, who mostly make a living from ceramics and from fishing. Ona Havstuer has five apartments in total, and the restaurant is open during the summer season.

Valldal Fjordhotell

The hotel is situated on the tourist route between two of Norway's most famous tourist destinations – Geiranger and the Trollstigen Road. On this drive, you will experience spectacular fjords, high mountains and waterfalls.
The hotel, which has 40 rooms, a restaurant and a lounge, is located in the centre of Valldal with a beautiful view overlooking the Norddalsfjord and the Syltefjellet mountain, where the mark left by the ‘sea serpent’ is visible on its rock face.
The saga writer Snorri describes St. Olav’s voyage through Valldal in 1029: On their way up the fjord, the royal ship, Visund, was attacked by a giant sea serpent. After St. Olav won the fight against the sea serpent, he flung it so hard against the rock face that the mark remains to this day.
Valldal is also known as the strawberry village, and it is a great starting point for activities and hikes.
