About

Preikestolen BaseCamp, which is idyllically located near the shore of Refsvatnet lake and the main trail to Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock), is a short, 30-minute drive from Stavanger. At our BaseCamp, guests can enjoy a variety of land and water-based outdoor activities such as hiking, swimming, and lake paddling. It’s close proximity to Stavanger allows guests to combine their BaseCamp holiday with urban day trips to cultural attractions.

In addition to our Mountain Lodge, Preikestolen fjellstue, we offer hostel-style accommodation at our historic cabins, Preikestolhytta and Vatnegården. For guests wishing to stay even closer to nature, Preikestolen BaseCamp offers camping at our unique Hikers' Camp or WaterCamp.

The Dining Room at Preikestolen Mountain Lodge is known for its outstanding, traditional Norwegian dishes. Hikers' Cafe offers visitors a quick and casual dining option directly adjacent to the trailhead.

Guests may rent outerwear, kayaks, canoes, SUP boards and pedal boats from our Adventure Center, which is conveniently located at the Preikestolen trailhead. In addition to paddling, swimming and fishing can alos be enjoyed in Refsvatnet lake, which is on the property.
