Whether you have a few hours to fill or two weeks or more, driving is the ideal way to see the very best of Fjord Norway at your own pace.
Plan your road trip to take in the main sights like Trollstigen, but explore the fjords, villages, coastal roads and landscape of Fjord Norway as you go and you'll find your own special memories. Make the most of Norway's quiet roads by hiring a car from one of the region's cities or airports. An almost limitless number of road trip options are available, from short day trips to long tours. The longest takes up to 15 days and takes you past ten of Fjord Norway's biggest attractions, including the Trollstigen mountain road and the Geirangerfjord.
Because of the region's diverse landscape, ferries and tunnels are common, both adding to the experience. Ferries give the driver a natural break, while the 24.5 km Lærdal Tunnel is the longest road tunnel in the world and a tourist attraction in itself.
