Haugalandmuseet - a vibrant cultural arena with lots of exciting things to offer!
Haugalandmuseet is the regional museum for art and cultural history in Northern Rogaland, and consists of the Arquebus War History Museum, Bokn rural museum, Haugesund Art Gallery, Hiltahouse at Røvær, Karmsund folkemuseum, Dokken Open air museum, Nedstrand regional museum, Mikal L. Klovning's boathouse on Utsira and The Vindafjord museum.
The main focus of the museum is the sea, which has always been the most important way of life for the region. The sea is the lifeblood. Inspiration for artists, an escape route during dramatic war years and capital for our modern society. Sea, ship and herring are our cultural heritage.

From Bergen with the coastal bus/Kystbussen; daily multiple departures to Haugesund city center. The journey takes approx. 3 hours 30 min. Walking distance to Karmsund folkemuseum 7 min.
From Oslo by air daily several departures to Haugesund Airport. The crossing takes 50 min. From Haugesund Airport, a shuttle bus goes to Haugesund city center. The bus ride takes approx. 20 min.
