Janus is one of the largest and oldest knitwear factories in Europe. The outlet is in the original factory built of wood, which dates back to 1895. It has an idyllic location
on the riverbank. A visit to our factory outlet is a trip back in time. The walls are imbued with the true spirit of Norway’s textile history. There are large-scale photographs displaying over a century of industrial history, the old machines and equipment used when the factory was run using water from the river.
The actual cultural centre is on the first floor of this beautiful wooden factory, as a combined factory outlet, historical exhibition and great setting for concerts.
Children: free entrance.
