A coach journey from Stavanger takes guests to Kobbasteinen Cultural Farm – a unique meeting place for reflection, conversation and creativity. Here, Birgitte and Petter Gilsvik have created an arena where writers, artists, researchers and curious minds come together to share ideas and inspiration. The couple previously ran a similar artist residency outside Copenhagen and now continue this tradition in exceptional surroundings with views of fjords and mountains.
The highlight of the day is a talk by Bit Vejle, an internationally acclaimed paper-cut artist. She works with the traditional technique of psaligrafi – the art of "drawing with scissors" – where a single incorrect cut cannot be undone, and each piece is created with great precision and concentration.
Bit Vejle is also the founder of the Nordic region’s only specialist museum for paper art, established in 2018. The museum presents this unique art form as a slow and contemplative contrast to the pace of modern life.
Visit to Apal Sideri
After the talk and lunch, the journey continues to Apal Sideri. Here, visitors can experience some of the finest local flavours the region has to offer. Fruit growing has deep roots in the area, and today’s cider production is based on local ingredients and strong craft traditions.
