SEX, Power and Music: AKKS + Kapittel 2026!
In 2026, Kapittel, Stavanger’s international festival of literature and freedom of expression, turns its attention to one of the most controversial and charged subjects of human life: SEX.
Through literature, art, history, technology and public debate, the festival will explore how sexuality shapes us. This year’s theme raises major questions about power, identity, control, freedom, shame, class, the body, boundaries and desire. Sex is politics, culture and human experience at its most direct, vulnerable and honest.
Workshop – 18:30
“Drag, Gender and the Freedom of Being Someone Else”
Ahead of Teddy’s concert, Sofie Søndervik Sæther invites the audience to a practical and exploratory workshop on drag, gender expression and social norms.
Drawing on personal experiences as a musician and drag artist with Deathman, the workshop explores drag as an art form, a method and a space of freedom – a place where humour, power, vulnerability and transformation exist side by side.
Through short reflections and exercises, participants will explore how identity and alter egos can represent both freedom and limitation. Participation is entirely optional, and no performance is required. Everyone is invited to explore what happens when expectations are shifted.
Concert – Teddy, 20:00
Teddy (they/he) is an uncompromising artist, rapper and MC from Bergen. With roots in the club and ballroom scene, Teddy has already made a distinct mark on Norway’s artistic community.
Inspired by the iconic energy of the punk scene of the 1980s, from New York to London, Teddy moves seamlessly between rap, performance and club culture.
Here, club-kid aesthetics meet Bergen confidence, with influences ranging from Lars Vaular to drag and underground club scenes. The result is rap, uncompromising attitude and concerts that feel as much like an explosion as a traditional live performance.
Teddy delivers not only bars, but also an exploration of gender, style and identity that challenges expectations and points towards new directions for Norwegian club and rap culture.
Through honest lyrics, razor-sharp flow and stage energy that has generated huge hype far beyond Bergen, Teddy is emerging as one of the most exciting names on Norway’s rap and club scene.
