After six years without a new studio album of original material, Ane Brun heads out on an extensive Nordic tour in spring 2027. On Wednesday 17 March 2027 she takes the stage at USF Verftet, Røkeriet.
The tour follows the release of the new album I Thought We Were The Same, which marks the start of a new chapter for the Norwegian artist.
Over more than 20 years Ane Brun has developed from the stripped-back, acoustic indie folk of her debut album Spending Time With Morgan into one of Scandinavia's most distinctive musical expressions. She has moved between orchestral pop, electronic experiments, powerful interpretations and quiet, piano-driven songwriting - always with a clear and uncompromising signature.
Brun has been acclaimed in both Norway and Sweden, with among others Norwegian Spellemann prizes and Swedish Grammis awards for best alternative pop and composer of the year. In recent years she has toured extensively, played festivals and completed two European tours, most recently in connection with her 20th anniversary as an artist in 2023. She has also been part of Gothenburg Opera's production 12 Songs, where her music was interpreted by the opera's orchestra and dance company.
Since the two studio albums After The Great Storm and How Beauty Holds The Hand Of Sorrow came out in 2020, she has among other things released the album Nærmere, the collections Portrayals and Songs 2013-2023, as well as the live album 20th Anniversary Tour.
With the singles «Hand in the Fire», «Two in This Story», «Hold Me» and the Röyksopp collaboration «Eat the Fruit», Ane Brun points ahead to the upcoming album. I Thought We Were The Same explores trust and betrayal - both in close relationships and in a time marked by artificial intelligence, deepfakes and geopolitical unrest.
On stage in Bergen audiences can expect an encounter with a musical universe in constant motion, where the larger pop arrangements from the new album get even more room.
