This Saturday, jazz trumpeter Are Ovesen draws inspiration from swing jazz of the 1940s and 1950s, with particular influence from tenor saxophonist Larry McKenna and trumpeter Warren Vaché, both well-known ambassadors of this style. The program includes classics such as “Pennies From Heaven” and “After You’ve Gone,” as well as lesser-known gems from this golden era. Ovesen is joined by an outstanding lineup of musicians who will make this afternoon an especially enjoyable experience.
Are Ovesen – trumpet
Ole Jacob Hystad – saxophone
Dag Arnesen – piano
