Atlanter live i Molde

The innovative quartet Atlanter made a spectacular debut in 2013 with *Vidde*, an album acclaimed by critics and nominated for both the Spellemann Award and the Nordic Music Prize.

While the claim that a band has created its own genre or musical universe is often a cliché, when it comes to the outstanding musicians Jens Carelius, Arild Hammerø, Jonas Barsten, and Morten Kvam, it is genuinely difficult to describe their work any other way. Nothing else sounds quite like Atlanter.

Their new album, *Klokker* (Jansen Records, 2026), reveals a band that has retained all its playfulness and spirit of exploration. It is expansive music that conjures up panoramic mental images for the listener. The intricate, unique guitar work of Carelius and Hammerø draws inspiration from everything from desert blues and German krautrock to Norwegian folk melodies.

On stage, Atlanter shifts between dance-inducing vibes, hypnotic guitar improvisations, and melodic vocals. The audience is drawn into an "Atlanter-esque" trance during a musical journey that constantly oscillates between the raw and the delicate.
