Chet Baker’s voice and trumpet are the narrative voice of cool jazz.
But what do these stories sound like in our own mother tongue?
Since 2010, Baker Hansen has been creating his own musical narratives based on the music made famous by Chet Baker. The stories are timeless and well-known, but the lyrics have been rewritten in Norwegian and are performed in dialect by vocalist Sigurd Rotvik Tunestveit from Ål in Hallingdal. In our own language, both the music and the content feel more immediate, and the concerts offer a listening experience that audiences at over 200 concerts in Norway and Sweden have greatly appreciated.
Baker Hansen has released three albums: ¨Ei som deg¨ (2014), ¨Gamle Daga¨ (2016) and ¨Live i Oslo med John Pål Inderberg¨ (2019).
