Experience a poetic, visual and musical performance about glaciers and loss with the Icelandic author and activist Andri Snær Magnason together with a quartet from Bergen Filharmoniske Ungdomsorkester. Magnason has written the bestselling book «On Time and Water», and is the protagonist in the documentary TIME AND WATER, directed by Sara Dosa. The film can be seen at BIFF.
Andri knows how to put words to what we are in the process of losing – glaciers, people, memories – and accompanied by resonant tones from BFUng's string quartet and Super8 film, Live DVD Extra Bonus Material is an ode to our beautiful planet and a moving reminder of what is worth fighting to preserve. The playful title of the performance – Live DVD Extra Bonus Material – is the author's nod to the tactile era of the DVD, as well as to the performance as a bonus to the film.
Bergen Filharmoniske Ungdomsorkester (BFUng) is one of Norway's leading youth orchestras with members from across the country. The orchestra numbers 140 young musicians between 15 and 25 years and this evening a string quartet will stand side by side with the author.
In collaboration with Bergen Filharmoniske Ungdomsorkester.
