Billy Meier’s uninhibited blend of genres and musical expressions has made the band a wildcard on the Norwegian jazz scene. Blending jazz fusion, new wave and exotica, the band is known for its clever compositions, groovy passages, wild improvisations and playful approach to its colourful music.
In 2026, the band is touring to mark its tenth anniversary, originally celebrated in 2025 with the release of its most ambitious studio album to date. “Ten”, praised by Norwegian critics, features collaborations with American guitar star Blake Mills (Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Pino Palladino), the acclaimed electronic vocal trio Nothing Personal, and folk music legend Steinar Ofsdal.
Featuring musicians known from bands and artists including Reôlo, Henriette Eilertsen Trio, Masåva, Harald Lassen, Andreas Røysum Ensemble and Andreas Rotevatn, Billy Meier offers a diverse and vibrant live experience. The band left a strong impression on reviewers at its release concert at Nasjonal Jazzscene in January this year:
