The Christmas holidays are the time for leftover ribs, family gatherings and financial denial. In the middle of all this Blakk comes to Kulturhuset in Bergen on 29 December with the new Christmas record "Blakk til jul".

Blakk has for years been described as "the standard-bearers of welfare rock", a Bergen satirical rock band with lyrics about financial hardship, money troubles and life in the shadow of ever more expensive electricity bills and ever wealthier rich people. They play dark, skewed and disillusioned punk rock, with clear kinship to Raga Rockers, Talking Heads, Jokke & Valentinerne and The Clash.

The band is perhaps just as well known for their music as for their logo, a logo that NAV has allegedly spent considerable resources trying to stop them from using. When world leaders ignore international law, the oligarchy grows in the background and the oil fund keeps swelling, it is reassuring to know that someone is still taking on the system with a fuzz pedal, dark humour and poor financial choices.

After the debut record «Hjelp!» in 2013 Blakk disappeared without trace. Now they have managed to stagger back to their feet with members from Major Parkinson, Ocean of Lotion, Dobbeltgjenger, Shaman Elephant and Tiebreaker, and with a fresh injection of dark Christmas holiday energy.

"Blakk til jul" is Christmas music for everyone who feels that December went a little too fast, a little too expensively and a little too poorly.
