After a long day of Siddis Brass, the BrassVors continues at Zetlitz with Ole Edvard Antonsen’s Tour de Force – The Return!
Backed by a powerful band, including a horn section and backing vocalists, Antonsen returns to his roots and the popular-music side of his incredibly versatile trumpet career – the music that truly made him a household name in Norway.
The iconic album “Tour de Force” (1992) was recorded at Nidaros Studio in Trondheim with legendary producer Bjørn Nessjø. It became a huge success, selling 150,000 copies in Norway alone. “Tour de Force” reached the top of the VG-lista chart, Ole Edvard was named Artist of the Year by Dagbladet and received the Spellemann Award in the Open Class category. The album also topped charts in several other countries and became a reference album for trumpet players around the world.
Original tracks such as “5000 Miles” (later released as “Spanish Steps” in Morten Harket’s version), “Vitae Lux” and his iconic version of “Honky Tonk Women” made the album a piece of Norwegian music history.
The concert will also feature selected tracks from the other popular-music albums Read My Lips (1997) and Landscapes (2007), along with a taste of new material Ole Edvard is currently working on.
