Brillejesus is Back!
Brillejesus is back! The band will be releasing several new tracks throughout the autumn, and on 7 November – frontman Ebbe Helberg’s 50th birthday (!) – there will be a concert at Martinique!
Brillejesus formed in 2018 and have released two albums and a handful of singles. They play what they describe as self-deprecating reality rock, with songwriter Ebbe Helberg singing in Norwegian. In the past, they have provoked both anger and joy with songs such as “Bompenger” and “Grå hår”. It has already been two years since their last release, “Dette er bare en hobby” (This Is Just a Hobby), but now they are finally back!
Alongside Helberg, Brillejesus consists of Jon Salthe on drums, Kevin Yelenik on guitar and Espen Eidem on bass. The band has recently expanded with an additional guitarist, who will make a debut at this concert: Nils Salthe!
As support, there will be an exclusive reunion with both Arthur! and Teeny Grownups!
Arthur! formed in 1998, made their stage debut in 2001, when drummer Jon was just 14, and remained active until around 2003. The band consisted of Ebbe Helberg and his brother Nils Salthe, along with their cousins Henrik Salthe and Jon Salthe (who are also brothers). It has now been ten years since their last reunion, so it is time to turn up the rock ’n’ roll once again!
Teeny Grownups consisted of Ebbe Helberg, Øystein Aspøy, Gunnar S. Hauge and Tord Figenshou. The band formed in 2001, with this line-up coming together around 2006, and played their farewell concert at Martinique on 28 January 2017. The members have not seen each other since – but now they are back!
