Mandolin virtuoso Chris Thile, MacArthur Fellow and known from Punch Brothers and Nickel Creek, is finally coming to Bergen! Thile is celebrated worldwide for his unique ability to blend classical music, bluegrass, and improvisation. He will present his latest project, Bach: Sonatas and Partitas, Vol. 2, interpreting Bach’s masterpieces with a rare combination of precision, playfulness, and deeply personal expression.
NPR calls him “a musician who pushes the boundaries of what a mandolin can be,” and Gramophone describes his Bach interpretations as “extraordinary playing from an extraordinary musician.”
