DumDum Boys – XL

DumDum Boys – XL [roman numeral forty]

In November 2026, DumDum Boys mark 40 years since the release of their first album, a milestone that confirms the band’s unique position in Norwegian rock history. After a long‑awaited break following an energy‑filled festival season, the band now brings the power of hundreds of thousands of audience members into the four largest arenas in the country with DumDum Boys – XL [roman numeral forty].

In the wake of the punk wave from the UK, with bands like Sex Pistols and The Clash, DumDum Boys started out as Wannskrækk in 1979. In 1985 they took the name DumDum Boys, and since then they have been part of our shared memory and cultural landscape. New fans continue to join them. Praise such as “Norway’s foremost live band” has followed them since the beginning – driven by defiance and pure joy of playing.

DumDum Boys have been trendsetters who never became trendy, subculture heroes who invite to sing‑alongs and large communal celebrations. In a landscape where genres and phenomena come and go, they stand firm with raw energy, unforgettable melodies and lyrics that have defined generations.

DumDum Boys have been around for a long time – achieved more than most – and now crown a rich career with their four unique evenings in Oslo, Stavanger, Bergen and Trondheim.
