A Christmas concert with baroque vocal and instrumental music from Latin America and Spain.
Between the second half of the XVII century and the first half of the XVIII century, music flourished in the vast territory of the former Viceroyalty of Peru, especially in the cathedrals of Lima and La Plata. Among the most prominent composers of the time were Juan de Araujo and Tomas de Torrejón y Velasco, chapel masters of these cathedrals. The program will include a selection of Araujo's and Torrejon's pieces along with instrumental music from Spain.
