Edvard Borneo is a Bergen-based songwriter and visual artist who makes music at the intersection of American folk, indie rock and country. With references to Blake Mills, Adrienne Lenker and Bob Dylan he combines explosive folk songs and melancholic country ballads with lyrics marked by literary ambition. GAFFA describes his sound as «dreamy and floating, with a small hint of controlled playfulness».
The album "Party for One" (2024) was well received by GAFFA, Stavanger Aftenblad and STOFF, and came in the wake of a warm winter on a farm and ten concerts in Austin, Texas. He has played at venues such as USF Verftet and SALT in Bergen, as well as a number of festivals in Norway. In October 2026 he releases "Familiar Hell", a more personal and ballad-oriented follow-up mixed by Kato Ådland, with musicians from projects such as Metteson, Hannah Storm and Hedda Mae.
Borneo also creates his own visual expression, including record covers and clothing worn on stage, which gives the project a cohesive artistic identity beyond the music.
