Who is your crew?
Your crew is not necessarily the people you know best. It can be your family, your friends, your class or your team. But it can also be the strangers you sit with on the bus on a Tuesday morning. The people standing next to you at a concert. Those you share a room, a moment or an experience with. For we always have something in common, if we just take the time to notice it.
With "Gjengen min" Fargespill Bergen challenges the idea of the crew as something closed, where some are on the inside and others are left out. For what if the crew is more fluid, more generous and bigger than we usually think?
On stage stand young people between 7 and 25 years old with different stories, experiences, music, dance and cultural heritage. Through the production we move from Eritrea to Bollywood, South Africa, Kurdistan, Kenya, Angola and the Philippines - and many places in between. Some will be familiar, some perhaps entirely new. And in these encounters something is created that none of us could have made alone.
But the crew does not stop at the edge of the stage.
Performers, musicians and audiences gather in the same room. People who may never have met before, see the same thing, hear the same thing and experience something together. Then we are also a crew.
"Gjengen min" is a concert production filled with music, dance, energy, surprises and a couple of audience favourites from previous productions. A grand stage experience about everything we each bring with us - and what can arise when we notice what we have in common.
My crew is the people I am involved with.
