Zum Hauptinhalt

The Jorddøgn Festival in Bryne gets underway this weekend, and at Litteraturhuset we’re kicking things off with festival founders Peter Strassegger and Bothild Nordsletten, together with Jorddøgn guest Inger Bråtveit, asking whether it is actually possible to come home.

All three have, in different ways, tried to return home to the village after many years in the capital or abroad, turning their faces homewards – whether that means the family farm in Suldal or the town-village of Bryne.

How easy is it, really, to come home? Are you a different person, or a different person in other people’s eyes? Are the horizons you grew up with compatible with those you bring home with you? And, perhaps most importantly, can you write about it?
