Mongoland hardly needs an introduction, but we can give a brief for any newcomers. Arild Østin Ommundsen’s low-budget film was groundbreaking for Stavanger as a film city when it premiered in 2001. The cast, then film students, are now among Norway’s and the Nordic region’s biggest acting names. Mongoland is a warm and hilariously funny film with a very special place in the hearts of those of us from this city.
