Over the past few years, author Finn Iunker has written several incisive essays about the situation in Palestine. Yet nothing in his upbringing in Southern Norway suggested that he would develop an interest in a country so far away. Politically, he initially leaned to the right, including through his membership of the Progress Party, while his other interests included literature, philosophy and mathematics rather than current affairs associated with the political left. For Iunker, the road to Palestine has been a long and winding one.
Finn Iunker holds two doctorates and this year published his tenth work of fiction, the novel Romanse, which has received enthusiastic reviews from critics. Iunker was awarded the Ibsen Award in 2006.
