GJENFERD:

After a year of touring and critically acclaimed festival performances at Desertfest Oslo and VillVillVest, the Bergen-based rock band Gjenferd are ready to hit the road again. This time, they bring their second album, Black Smoke Rising, released on 6 March 2026 via Apollon Records.

Black Smoke Rising builds on the strengths of their debut, with an even stronger focus on catchy choruses and hard-hitting riffs that grab the listener from the first second. At the same time, the band stays true to themselves, showing no signs of letting go of the dark edge that has defined Gjenferd since the start.

Gjenferd draws inspiration from classic heavy rock bands like Black Sabbath and Deep Purple, combined with a modern sound influenced by Ghost and Hällas. They are known for their energetic live performances at festivals such as Desertfest Oslo.

Their debut album ranked 4th in Doom Charts’ best albums for May 2024, and the single Starless received top reviews in Dagsavisen and Bergens Tidende.

"It’s untamed and wild, spanning multiple subgenres, yet there’s a hypnotic pull that makes you hit repeat." – Mode Steinkjer, Dagsavisen

Gjenferd features members from Kryptograf, Edvard Borneo, Metusalem, and a former bassist of SKAAR.

FFO: Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, Slomosa, Motorpsycho, Uncle Acid & the Deadbeats, Pentagram, Uriah Heep

SUNDROWNED:

Sundrowned reflects the West Norwegian nature they grew up in – brutal and beautiful in the same breath. With roots in post-metal’s heaviness and structure, between Cult of Luna and Rosetta, the band combines massive riffs with dreamy, melodic textures inspired by Alcest and early shoegaze. The result is a unique and atmospheric sound that has attracted strong international attention and must be experienced live.

In September 2025, Sundrowned released their second album Higanbana, a continuation of their debut Become Ethereal (2021).
