“With folk music as a calling”
Knut Buen tells stories, reads poetry, and plays the Hardanger fiddle.
The legendary Knut Buen from Jondal in Telemark is coming to Stavanger!
He is a great source of inspiration for people of all ages and someone who connects music, tradition, and life in a broad perspective. Knut Buen has lived a diverse life as a Hardanger fiddler, composer, folk music collector, writer, rosemaling artist, poet, farmer, philosopher, record label director, and much more. He is even a Knight First Class of the Order of St. Olav for his tireless work promoting Norwegian tradition and culture.
At the same time, he is someone who looks beyond national borders and sees how everything is interconnected: “The national is our interpretation of the international.”
Knut Buen is something that simply must be experienced. If you only attend one cultural evening, make it this one. Warm welcome.
After the concert there will be music and dancing late into the night.
