Hanne Boel is in a continuous creative process, and these days she is working on new material that will eventually become a new album. Boel is drawing on a tried-and-tested strategy from earlier times, allowing the songs and their live performances to meet audiences, with the atmosphere and feedback helping to determine which songs deserve a place on her next release.
At the 2026 concerts, audiences can therefore expect to hear new songs, as well as familiar favourites that have stood the test of time throughout Hanne Boel’s long career.
Together with her band, she is always looking to approach her older repertoire with curiosity and a sense of innovation, while taking care not to spoil a great song by changing too much when it does not feel right.
“I feel that, together with my current band, I am firmly rooted in the present. We are curious, love playing and love music. We love a good groove that reaches the body just as much as the heart and mind. We are curious about the present, while at the same time being enthusiastic about the old-school virtues of the 1980s and 1990s.”
