On 24 November Helge Grønhaug takes the stage at Lille Ole Bull as part of Bergen Live Sessions. Here it will be an intimate and personal concert experience with one of Norwegian music's most experienced and distinctive performers.
Stories from life's small and big moments Grønhaug is known for his bittersweet and self-ironic songs, where he depicts life's small and big misfortunes with warmth and precision. The songs are tied together by short texts and anecdotes, giving the concerts a cohesive, almost literary expression.
A versatile performer Through a long career Grønhaug has made his mark both as a solo artist and in collaboration with a number of other musicians. He has also written books and been a radio essayist on NRK P1.
For many he is perhaps best known as the voice and perspective of the band De Musikalske Dvergene, which through ten albums has left clear marks on Norwegian rock with their unique blend of warmth, wit and down-to-earth philosophical seriousness.
Intimate, acoustic and story-driven As a solo artist Grønhaug performs in an acoustic format where lyrics, content and delivery take centre stage. Here it is the stories that lead the way – with an extensive catalogue of original songs, translations and anecdotes as the backdrop.
An evening up close The concert at Lille Ole Bull will be a rare opportunity to experience Grønhaug up close – in a format that allows for reflection, recognition and quiet humour.
As part of Bergen Live Sessions, everything is in place for an intimate and atmospheric concert experience on 24 November.
