When Kråkeviks songbok was released in 2000, featuring her warm and distinctive interpretations of songs such as Den fyrste song, Til ungdommen and Blåmann, the album became an immediate sensation. Kråkevik was hailed as Norway’s number one songbird and named Spellemann of the Year – with the jury stating: “The Norwegian song treasury has never been interpreted more beautifully.”
The recordings, made in collaboration with TrondheimSolistene, sold an impressive 250,000 copies and placed the album among the best-selling Norwegian releases of all time.
