Zum Hauptinhalt

A duo and a trio, with almost the same names and each with their own pump organ player named Vemund. Of course these two have to meet!

Himmelleite consists of Ingrid Lingaas Fossum and Vemund Olav Aukrust, who present folk music from Valdres and Gudbrandsdalen in a new musical form – performed on langeleik, lyre, vocals and pump organ. The duo draws inspiration from mountain landscapes and traditional summer farming life, creating a contemporary meeting point between folk music and classical music.

Himmelfarten is a fascinating music group based in Bergen and Voss. Trygve Tronstad, Martin Borge and Vemund Styve play pump organ, acoustic guitars, banjo and twelve-string alto guitar, and sing in close harmony. What does the music sound like? That’s hard to say. At the very least, the band sounds very much like itself – and that alone is well worth listening to.
