Singer and friend of JazzGalleriet, Andreas Friis Jørgensen, has taken a deep dive into the repertoire of composer and jazz pianist Bill Evans. Through thorough research Andreas has found material that is rarely performed, but which in a fascinating way reflects important people and events in Bill Evans' life. Here are musical letters to Evans' son, Evan Evans, and to his wife Nenette. Beautiful tones remember Bill's brother Harry, who passed away early. Room has also been found for his most well-known songs such as Waltz for Debby, Funkallero and You must believe in spring.
During the film festival BIFF, the film about Bill Evans will have its Norwegian premiere. In this way Bill Evans is more relevant than ever, and JazzGalleriet is pleased to be able to contribute to the celebration of the great musician.
Use the Saturday for a musical encounter with new faces and voices from the array of Fana residents and Bergen people in general who engage with live music!
