Sverre Bjertnæs and Nikolai Torgersen are both central figures in Norwegian contemporary art. In recent years, they have also turned to literature with books that, in different ways, grow out of their own lives.
In Morsdager, Bjertnæs writes closely and personally about the days at his mother’s deathbed, where memories, art and reflections on life are woven together in an essayistic work of remembrance. In Gater jeg har levd, Torgersen tells a raw and intense story of a childhood marked by poverty, addiction and social exclusion in Oslo.
