The picture book Olav og bokstaver is based on stories from King Olav V’s childhood and tells, with humour, the story of young Olav – a prince who excels at ski jumping but struggles with letters. A story about reading, confidence, identity and what it takes to grow up.
The critically acclaimed book is richly illustrated with detailed artwork, inviting both children and adults into a playful and historical world.
Recommended for ages 5 and above. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
The event is part of Kapittel – Stavanger International Festival of Literature and Freedom of Speech, 16–20 September 2026.
