Finn Iunker’s Romanse is a beautiful book about love – both love for an old flame and love for a son. Ingrid Z. Aanestad’s Eit verkeleg liv is an occasionally painful story about something that resembles love. The two acclaimed authors, both with new books, meet on stage to discuss why they have chosen to explore an enduring yet eternally relevant subject: the romantic and passionate relationships that shape life.
Thoughts return to such relationships, as in Iunker’s book. Attempts to break free from them are central to Aanestad’s book. Falling in love, a feeling familiar to many, creates a longing to experience it again and again.
Inger Undheim, head of the Garborg Centre, interviews the authors. Arne Garborg was also an author who knew how to capture passion in his books.
Finn Iunker is an author, playwright and translator. In 2006, Iunker received the Ibsen Award for his plays. His work includes plays, prose and essays. His novel Romanse was published in 2026.
Ingrid Z. Aanestad is an author from Klepp in Rogaland. She made her debut with the novel I dag er ein fin dag in 2006 and has since written several novels and books of essays. Her novel Eit verkeleg liv was published in 2026.
